Why Google Reviews Matter
Google Reviews influence customer trust, click-through rates, and local search rankings. Businesses with higher review counts and positive ratings are more likely to appear in the Google Local Pack and attract organic customers. Making it effortless for customers to leave a review — for example, by scanning a QR code — removes friction and increases conversion.
How the Google Review QR Works
When you enter a Google Place ID or Maps URL, this tool generates a link that opens Google’s write-review flow. Scanning the QR on a phone will take users directly to the review dialog (behavior varies slightly across devices and browsers). If you provide a Place ID we create a direct write-review link; if you paste a full Maps URL we use that as the QR target.
How to Find Your Google Place ID
- Open Google's Place ID Finder or search for your business on Google Maps.
- Click your business listing and use the Share → Copy Link option to get a Maps URL; optionally extract the Place ID using Google’s Place ID tool.
- Paste the Place ID or full Maps URL into this generator and create the QR code.
Best Practices for Using Review QR Codes
- Place the QR code where customers already interact with your business: receipts, tables, packaging, storefront windows, or email signatures.
- Accompany the QR with a short call-to-action like "Scan to leave a review" or an incentive such as "Share feedback — get 10% off next visit" (follow platform rules).
- Test the QR code on multiple devices (iPhone/Android) before printing to ensure the review flow opens correctly.
- Use UTM parameters on your Maps links if you want to track review QR performance in analytics.
Common Questions
Will the QR open a review dialog on desktop?
On desktop, scanning the QR opens the provided URL in the browser. Google may route users to a review page or require them to sign in. Mobile devices typically provide the most direct review experience.
Can I use this on printed materials?
Yes — generate a high-resolution PNG using the download button, then include the image in print or digital media. For print, use a size that’s easy to scan (minimum ~2x2 cm depending on placement).
Is it safe to share Place IDs?
Place IDs are public identifiers for Google Maps listings and are safe to use in QR links; they don’t expose sensitive account information.
